Whakatane Spring Challenge 2023 – Embrace the Spirit of Adventure

Whakatane Spring Challenge Bay of Plenty

For adrenaline junkies and adventure enthusiasts, the Whakatane Spring Challenge 2023 is the ultimate test of strength and teamwork.

Jodie and Nathan Fa’avae ONZM are the dynamic duo behind this exhilarating event. Their journey began in 2006, fresh off their roles as Outward Bound instructors. Fuelled by a passion for adventure that’s as boundless as the New Zealand landscapes they adore, they founded their very own events company. But here’s the twist – both Jodie and Nathan aren’t just event organizers; they’ve repped New Zealand on the international stage in mountain biking, and Nathan, in particular, has conquered the realm of professional adventure racing.

What ignites their fire, you ask? Injecting boundless energy into New Zealand’s adventure events calendar! And they didn’t just stop there. They envisioned an all-women’s adventure race – a groundbreaking endeavor that has now become the Whakatane Spring Challenge.

So, gear up, ladies, for an adventure like no other. This multi-discipline adventure race sees teams of women kayak, mountain bike, and trek their way through Whakatane’s breathtaking landscapes. Even if you’re not participating, watching the challenge unfold is an experience. It’s a celebration of strength and camaraderie right in the heart of the Bay of Plenty.
